News, Changes, and Rearrangements

Willow's bathroom has been renovated. A new toilet and sink have been installed.
A new circuit breaker box was also installed and some wiring has been updated.

Pine,
Birch,
Twig,
Ironwood,
and Oak ...
... have been provided with microwave ovens. Now all our units are microwave equipped.
Twig has been fixed up with a new kitchen and a new bathroom. The bedroom was painted, too.
The perfect spot for two. Twig is located behind Pine, about 100 feet from the water and its own private dock.
Pine, Birch, and Willow have had new furnaces installed. For those who visit in May and September, this is good news. When I told one of our July guests about it, we both laughed. Later that week, he thanked me. We had a very cool week, and they needed that furnace.
The biggest project of our first year was a new septic system. There are two holding tanks and one lift tank on each side of the resort. Bringing septic systems up to code is a common requirement when rural properties are sold.
The horseshoe court has been moved along the loading zone for Twig, Pine and Birch.

For those of you unaware of our horseshoe court, it used to be along the road.

Some trees were growing so close to cabins that they were causing roof damage. They were cut down. We plan to put more birch trees along the waterfront and pines by the road.

Some of the tree cuttings became seats for the playground and waterfront area.

The path from the parking lot to the office is now officially marked with rock trail markers. Long time service with Boy Scouts of America provided the inspiration.
The yellow swim raft was new in 2002. It is the latest in the series of swim rafts in Rainbow's End swim area.
Our docks rock! To decorate the shoreline, landscape rocks were placed along the seawall. Each dock has its own color rock.
Duckworth Lane was added to the Rainbow's End Resort web site. Now a collection of trivia, it will feature fish stories and happenings at Rainbow's End Resort.
Painting the docks made them distinctive in our area. Keeping them painted will take some work!
The playground area was also hit by the painter. This paint seems to be holding up a bit better! ;-)
Electrical work is most obvious from the new service entrance near the office door. However, this trench is a part of that work. The overhead wires to the east fish house have been moved underground.
We are encouraging birds and squirrels to visit Rainbow's End Resort. We provide these special guests with room and board. Watching the squirrels get food from this "squirrel-proof" feeder is very entertaining.
