The Real Fishermen |
|
Nick, from Pekin, Illinois was showing his dad where to look for bass by the long bridge and caught this fine largemouth.

Two days later, Nick took this almost-award-winning largemouth, again near the long bridge. His 4-pound, 18-1/2 inch bass was beaten in the week's contest at the Rod and Gun Shop by a 4-1/2 pound, 18-3/4 inch trophy caught by a girl!
Nick's dad let lots of good sized bass go, so there will be plenty left for next year! |
|
Nick, from Stillman Valley, Illinois caught this prize winning walleye just two weeks before his namesake from Pekin arrived. This is a great year for young fishermen!

Nick from Stillman Valley taught his sister Kristen where to find the big ones. If awards were by age groups, Kristen would probably win one for this fish.

Amy, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, caught this fine bluegill from the dock in the background. She is also an expert on the teeter-totter in the kid's play area.

Amber, Amy's sister, quickly copied her sister's catch. Amber claims she taught Amy everything she knows, but their Mom claims to have helped. Mom, however, seemed to learn from the girls as she caught her bluegills by following the girls' example!

Danielle, from Kenosha, Wisconsin, shows off this fine bass.
She comes from a long line of fisherman (pardon the pun).
Her grandfather has identified secret fishing spots on the Chain of Lakes that hold hungry fish where no one else can find them.
Danielle shared her secret spot with us! Click here to see it.

Not everything that's caught at Rainbow's End Resort is a fish. This snail was caught near the shore.
|
|
In fact, this particular week was great for catching snails by children of all sizes. Sorry, but we couldn't get any of the frogs to pose for a picture.
