That would be birds, squirrels, bunnies, ducks, geese, and an occasional otter.

I hear the owls only in the winter.

The six deer I saw recently were at the other end of the island.

Last summer, a great blue heron visited Birch's dock quite frequently, often in the early morning.

This chickadee came for some seeds. We feed birds and squirrels throughout the year so you can enjoy them during your stay with us.
Although our cabins are not open in February, when this photo was taken, this guest stays year 'round, as do many others.

There are wood ducks and mallards, coots, sea gulls, and loons that can be found here in the summer, although they fly south for the winter.

The eagles are four-season guests. We've seen four of them at the same time. The juveniles look strange without the distinctive white head, but the way they fly is unmistakable!

How do you attract squirrels?

Climb a tree and act like a nut!

Although not "fauna", other natural wonders can been seen in the area. And many are caught in the waters of the Chetek Chain of Lakes!
